The International Federation of Film Distributors Associations (FIAD) is pleased to announce that Nikolas Moschakis has been appointed as the new Secretary General. Nikolas has been working in the Brussels regulatory environment for over seven years focusing exclusively on the Media and Creative industries sector.

Announcing the change, Victor Hadida, President of FIAD, expressed his confidence in the appointment: “I am very pleased to welcome Nikolas as Secretary General and we look forward to working with him. His expertise in the workings of EU affairs and association management but also having a good knowledge of the audiovisual industry will be an asset for FIAD.

I would also like to particularly thank our outgoing Secretary General, Jelmer Hofkamp, for his work and dedication all those years and wish him all the best in his new endeavours.”

Nikolas said: “I am delighted to be joining FIAD at such crucial time for the creative industries with key legislative proposals under discussion. I look forward to working together with FIAD's members with the other industry stakeholders and the European institutions towards a fair and balanced audiovisual landscape, benefiting the industry and the consumers."

Nikolas has studied International and European, Economic and Political Studies at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki and holds an M.A. in EU International Relations and Diplomacy from the College of Europe in Bruges. Before working in Brussels, Nikolas worked in international organisations in both New York and Washington D.C.
